Number of Covid-19 Cases Rises to 142 in India

 

New Delhi: With the first reported case of corona virus in West Bengal, the number of patients infected with this virus has increased to 142 in the country. A 64-year-old man from Mumbai died on Tuesday from a Corona virus infection in India. This is the third case of death from this virus in the country. Officials said that this is the first case of death in Maharashtra from Covid-19 while the condition of the deceased’s wife is stable. Earlier, a 76-year-old man from Kalaburgi, Karnataka, having ┬átravel history to Saudi Arabia, died of ┬ácorona virus infection. After this, a 68-year-old infected woman was killed in Delhi.

The infection has been confirmed in 142 people including 22 foreign nationals in the country. According to the ministry’s data, 13 people have been discharged from the hospital so far, including three cases in Kerala. BMC chief Pravin Pardesi said that the patient from Mumbai, who lost his life recently, was admitted to Kasturba Hospital in the city. He said that the deceased was suffering from several health problems besides the corona virus.

The government is doing every possible thing to prevent the corona virus. The first objective is to prevent  public gatherings at any place. In this series, Western Railway has increased the price of platform ticket from Rs 10 to Rs 50 so that the railway station does not get too crowded. Western Railway Station consists of 6 divisions, including Mumbai, Vadodara, Ratlam, Bhavnagar, Ahmedabad and Rajkot. There are a total of 250 stations including the sub divisions. Apart from this, Central Railway has also increased the price of platform ticket to Rs 50. The Central Railway covers Nagpur, CST of Mumbai, Bhusawal, Pune and Solapur.

Keeping in mind the danger of Corona, Delhi University (DU) has now allowed teachers to work from home. This decision has been taken after the teachers demanded for a work from home mandate. According to the news agency PTI, Delhi University has said that teachers have the option to work from home as a protection against Coronavirus.
