New Delhi: Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and former South African batsman AB de Villiers have decided to cooperate in raising funds to fight the coronavirus. Both will auction the bat with which they scored a century for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match in 2016.
Kohli and de Villiers will raise money from this auction to fight against the Covid-19 epidemic. Apart from the bat, these two batsmen will also auction other cricket gears including gloves and T-shirts used for the match played against Gujarat Lions.
RCB had scored a mammoth score of 248 runs for three wickets in that match with centuries from Kohli and de Villiers. The team won this match by 144 runs. Kohli scored 109 and de Villiers batted for unbeaten 129 runs.
