New Delhi: Soon after NSA Ajit Doval took charge of maintaining peace in the riot-affected areas of North-east Delhi, things are turning. The violence which claimed around 40 lives and left over 200 injured, has gone under grave for the last two day. Prohibitory orders imposed under section 144 is likely to be relaxed for a few hours on Friday, based on the ground situation. Life is returning to normalcy in the violence-affected areas.
Delhi Police is in action with arresting over 130 people and detaining over 400 people. A total of 48 FIRs have been registered till now. Aam Aadmi Party Councillor Tahir Hussain, with his associates, has also been booked in suspect of murder of IB official Ankit Sharma.
Amidst the chaos, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Thursday that Delhi Government will bear all medical expenses of those affected in the violence. He has also announced Rs. 10 lakh as compensation to the kin of the dead and up to Rs. 5 lakh each to those who have lost their shops and houses in the riot.
